Recent Credit Card Regulations Come With New Warnings
Mar 10, 2010 banking investment
Since the new regulations set forth in the Credit Card Act of 2009 came into effect on February 22, 2010, the credit card companies will now have to measure up to stiffer rules when it comes to raising rates, varying payment due dates and other questionable practices from the past. These new regulations along with the long-term downturn that has consumers using less credit and more cash, has deeply affected the profits of the credit card companies.
However, the credit card companies are still in the business to make a profit so there are some criteria that a customer needs to be aware of in the near future. A wise consumer needs to be wary of extra fees that they may end up paying.
Growingly credit card issuers and financial institutions are now implementing annual fees for credit card holders. In the past many of these annual fees were reserved for high-end reward cards and the majority of customers credit cards did not include an annual fee. An annual fee considerably adds to the cost of the credit card, no matter how often you use it. If you have been hit with an annual fee, you may think about applying for a card without a fee and closing the old account, however, your credit score will take a short-term hit if you do this.
Under the new rules, the credit card financial institutions must notify the customer of any changes to the credit card at least 45 days in advance. Users need to be wary of how critical it is to read all communication from the credit card companies as the notifications could be bundled in with the monthly statement or mailed in an envelope that is similar to a solicitation or is unremarkable and easy to ignore. Read all data from your credit card financial institutions very cautiously.
Credit card issuers are also starting to charge merchants more for the privilege of allowing their patrons to utilize credit cards. These fees are referred to as interchange fees and when the cost of these fees increases, merchants are often forced to increase costs in order to protect their own businesses. Higher interchange fees can lead to excessive prices for consumers.
Under the new regulations college students will not be able to get a credit card unless they can attest the ability to pay or have a co-signor. However, the credit card companies are limiting their risk by reserving the option to maintain the co-signor for long after the student turns 21. Co-signors need to be fully aware of the duration and extent of their legal responsibility before they sign.
Interest rates can no longer be raised on existing balances however, many credit card companies raised rates previous to the implementation of the credit card act and counterbalanced the increase with consumers by offering interest rate rebates for paying on time or for utilizing the credit card a specific amount every month. A intelligent user will keep away from these mock savings and pay off their balance every month.
The new regulations are constructive to customers because they are giving protection from many of the credit card pitfalls of the past, however, the credit card companies are in the business to make a profit and they will continue to come up with new strategies that will cost the customer more because they need to protect their profits.

Stuff You Need Know When Purchasing A Rental Property For The First Time
Mar 10, 2010 banking investment
A lot of folks get a bungalow thinking that it’s going to be a stress free experience. Most kids grow up in houses that are in pretty good shape, perhaps in the nice upscale suburban neigheborhood. It is a comfortable existance.
When you purchase a house hold for oneself, you may well learn that owning a property is not always the greatest thing within the world. In fact, it could be most closely linked to having a job that you’re stuck with until you are able to “sell” it. Yeah, it can be a real pain.
Even though I personal my private property, I think that even the term owning a house is sort of misleading. Following all, most men and women don’t really own the house hold that they live in. They are type of renting it via a mortgage. They truly very own a share of ownership within the residence.
Whenever you only personal a share of ownership in the property, you begin to believe about it differently. For example, why ought to the bank get to individual the home when they don’t do anything other than hold on to the cash? That seems kind of dumb to me.
Also, houses are a lot of do the job. I mean, truly a complete large amount of function. You wouldn’t believe so going in, but oh my can they be a complete ton of work. It’s quite unpleasant at times to need to fix up your residence just to make it nice.
Oh, and repairs kind of suck too. I doubt you’ve put much thought into it before but repairing your own house isn’t much fun either. If something breaks, you have to fix it yourself or pay a whole bunch to have someone else fix it. Talk about unpleasant. It’s not cool.
Cleaning your own house is also not terribly fun. Following all who wants to clean? Personally, I don’t take pleasure in cleaning at all. It just isn’t what I enjoy doing, so I avoid it like the plague.
All in all, you have to really know what you’re getting yourself into before buying a house. It might seem like the “American Dream” to some, but once you have to take care of your own stuff for a while, it can seem more like a nightmare.

Profitable Candlestick Patterns-The Bullish White Marubozu
Mar 10, 2010 banking investment
The most bullish of the candlestick pattern is the long white candle. It represents that day when bulls have been in total control of the market throughout the trading day pushing prices higher from the opening to the closing.
There were some sellers also in the market. Buyers were just buying from them and pushing the prices still further throughout the trading day! So when a bullish long candle is formed, it indicates that buyers have been buying throughout the day.
With the long white candle closing near the high of the day, this is an indication that the bulls aren’t done with their buying and will be back for more on the following day. What this means is that there wasn’t enough of the securities in the market to keep the buyers from pushing the prices higher.
In case of a true white Marubozu, the opening price is equal to the low of the day and the closing price is equal to the high for the day. Now, this might occur occasionally. For our purposes, a white candle may have some wick on its both ends. What this means is that the opening price in case of a long white candle will be close to the low of the day and the closing price will be close to the high for the day.
How do you know that this is indeed the white long candle? When you find that 90% of the area between the low and high of the day is covered by the candle body, you know that this is indeed a long white candle. You wil find many bullish white candles on the chart. Off course, everyone will not be the white long candle.
Now always remember, price action doesn’t move in one direction always. It retraces a little bit and then again starts moving in the previous direction. So when this retracement in price action takes place, you get the chance to trade the signal! When a long white candle is formed, it means that the price action had been intense throughout the day. This price action was covered in a very short period of time.
With long white candlesticks, the low price on the candlestick is a good support level. Support is the level where the buyers are expected to support the price of the stock or for that matter the security.
Now there are three variations to the long white candle. The long white Marubozu without any wick, this is the most bullish. The other is the closing white Marubozu. In this case, the close is equal to the high meaning there is no wick on the top. The other is the opening white Marubozu. In this case, the opening price is equal to the low meaning that there is no wick on the bottom.

Why Buyers Should Take Advantage Of Foreclosures In The Boise Idaho Real Estate Arena
Mar 10, 2010 banking investment
Being featuring among the nation’s most foreclosure burdened cities is not the greatest designation to have. The inundation of home foreclosures in the area indicates an unhealthy market, but the bright side of things shows that improvements have already started to develop.
Primary mortgage insurance makes it possible for lenders to “cover their assets” so lending without it is risky. When appreciation returned, acquiring PMI was become much easier. With the obvious risk of insuring a property for more than it is actually worth, PMI companies tend to raise insurance fees. This is a formula for tragedy for not only insurance businesses, but loan businesses as well. When the lending environment is in this condition, buyers in the Boise Idaho real estate market experienced an extremely tough lending atmosphere.
In an effort to prevent losing any advantage they may have, banks and insurance companies tend to minimize involvement in endeavors that may create some exposure on their part. In times of depreciation, many banks simply vary their guidelines for allowing loans, which decelerates the rate of lending in depreciating marketplaces. In circumstances that markets are depreciating the way the Boise Idaho real estate market was, many closings and transactions simply do not go through.
The vacuum in a market caused when lenders leave it cause a steep price drop that takes a long time to recover from. The short term implication may be scary, but long term this helps. Educated buyers use these times to most advantageously position themselves in the Boise Idaho real estate market. This scenario also causes some banks and the federal agencies likewise, to roll out loan modification programs or flat out loan reduction or forgiveness programs. This is done in an attempt to provide a way homeowners can retain their homes by reducing the payments through principle decreases or interest decreases.
After factoring in all the pressures that are extending and changing the real estate marketplace here, you can consider that the conclusion of the real estate crisis is at last getting closer. In Time investors will again put their dollars into rentals and land purchases to protect and produce wealth.

Getting the Better of the Markets
Mar 3, 2010 banking investment
One mismanaged trade can be the ruin of any fortune — and often is. Investments can be a problematic prospect, especially for the average investor whose only aim in to grow his or her nest egg. Indeed, in some regards these investors are the backbone of the industry. That being said, they can also be some of its most dramatic victims.
Many go-it-alone investors, in an effort to thwart cruel fate, prefer to add a new dimension to their investment strategy: time. To the uninitiated, this means they prefer to trade in futures. This means investors can utilize traditional commodities or E-mini index funds to leverage the projected value of commodities at some point in the future — hence the name.
Futures are not shackled to the whims and wishes of Wall Street — not directly, in any case. To that end, an investor can enjoy the privilege of round-the-clock trading via any global exchange. To be sure, the futures trader does not look to New York as much as he or she looks to the Second City, Chicago. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange is the mecca future traders turn to seek their fortunes.
It should be noted that although futures allow for greater investment flexibility, they require ready access to significant amounts of liquid capital. That is, they require access to cash — and lots of it. This is so because should your E-minis drop below the CME margin call, you will be required to ante-up, as it were. You can’t take your place at the roulette wheel unless you can afford to buy the placards, you see.
The promise of futures is the promise of tremendous gains. What futures promise — and often deliver to the savvy strategist — are dramatic returns. With a handful of E-minis, some commodities traders can reap a veritable financial whirlwind. Of course, this is subject to training and it would be in the best interests of the would-be futures traders to enroll in a futures trading course before embarking on too rigorous a trading regiment.
Heed the better part of your common sense and enroll in a well regarded futures trading course prior to frittering away your hard-earned capital.

Private Placement Memorandum and OTCBB: Make Investors Come To You In Droves!
Mar 3, 2010 banking investment
If you are trying to raise capital with a PPM or public entity like OTCBB you need to understand the mind of the investor. After the business plan sells the investor on the business concept you need to sell them on you and your executive staff. You need to stack your executive positions with professionals with a proven track record of success and possess a solid reputation in the industry. You must paint the picture for investors that your business is run by the who’s who in your industry and this pedigree is demonstrated by your education, degree, grades in college, professional organizations of which you have been and are currently a member, advisory board positions with other corporate organizations, a track record of setting up and maintaining strategic alliances, networking contacts and more.
When an investor looks at your human resource list on your PPM, business plan or public offering docs it needs to scream power, authority and confidence. Each individual that you place on your advisory board must have a massive contribution other than ‘advice’. Advisors should be able to prove their ability to assist in crucial decisions, connect your company with strategic partners and help you get to the next level.
Your legal counsel and CPA should be well known organizations with a long list of successful, well known organizations on their client roster and they should have a lot more to offer your company than just their fee based services. Again, these organizations should be able to set you up with partnerships that will help grow your business. As far as corporate awareness you must include a publicist. The publicist that you choose must be well versed in their comprehension of your industry genre.
They must be able to take your company and get you in front of the proper audience that is conducive to enhancing your growth potential. They must be able to demonstrate their knowledge of viral online marketing as well as traditional means of radio, TV and article promotion. They should be able to reach into their contact list and set you up with one interview after another targeting your specific audience.
These are just a few things to take into consideration when you jump on the fund raising trail. Every individual you have listed on your docs must be able to pass due diligence and have the appeal that reaches into the ‘comfort’ zone portion of the investor’s mind.

Option Trading Adjustments Based on Volatility
Mar 3, 2010 banking investment
Within this article we’d like to discuss management tactics which can be beneficial in the organization of an options account. This important concept can be functional to each type of option spread such as the Condors, Calendars, Butterflies, Diagonals, and the rest.
Right now as we write this article in 2008, the VIX is at its higher range for the last couple of years, causing options to be expensive. So if making adjustments at the present time, each trader needs to check where volatility is and forecast where it is leading to. Should we really purchase expensive, inflated options, or should we sell them to somebody else? What is the most recent volatility forecast in today’s stock market?
Many investors are trading options without an education on option Greeks or volatility. To find consistent success on the markets, one must really understand how volatility affects an option price as well as an option spread. For example, credit spreads rise when the volatility rises. Why? Because when IV rises, the time premium of an option also goes up and increases the price of the contract. This in turn increases the spread. If we don’t understand the fundamentals of option trading, we won’t know how to make good decisions to manage our accounts.
A STUDY IN TODAY’S OPTION MARKET
Let’s say that we have on an Iron Condor, and the market has been in an uptrend for two weeks. If this is the case, then we might be looking at an adjustment right? We are getting close to our short strike, and we need to do something to manage our risk. In this situation the IV of the asset has probably been dropping, since the IV normally moves the opposite direction of the underlying being traded. So, what do we do? Well, if the IV is at support and the technicals indicate that it might rise again, then we’d be looking at doing a positive Vega adjustment.
Options have endless possibilities. Many traders have no idea what adjustment to make when they see their portfolio in danger. If we learn and deeply understand the fundamentals, then adjustments are much easier. They just make sense. So in this case we may see the VIX is about to rise. We could place a long debit spread on the VIX itself as insurance. We could also use a Calendar spread to the downside. We could also use a Broken Wing Butterfly to the downside. Each of these mentioned strategies can take advantage of a rise in IV since they are positive Vega. Also, if your current portfolio is negative Vega, adding positive Vega can help you hedge any loss that you might incur from a rise in IV. Remember, with option trading we are trading direction, volatility and time.
There are many positive Vega option strategies, but some of the most common ones are Debit Spreads, Broken Wing Butterflies, Short Condors, Short Butterflies and Calendars. In our options mentoring course we cover them in great detail.
To summarize, when your option trades come to an adjustment point, always think about the IV of your asset. If you can make decisions based on volatility, direction, and time, then your option trading skills will be much better. It’s the little things like this that make a difference at the end of the year.

Stock Market Investing Will Be Made Easier, By Making Use Of These Guidelines
Mar 3, 2010 banking investment
Though the world stock markets are currently in decline, there is still a good reason to understand the workings of sound stock market investing. Fortunately, you will come across many tips that will help you earn good money from the stock markets.
The secret to proper stock market investing lies in planning your activities well before you actually invest your money in buying this or that stock. As a matter of fact, it is also important to understand the benefits of spreading investments across different stocks and making regular investments too is good for you as too are investing for long term gains rather than for short term gains.
It makes sense to invest as soon as is possible because this will allow you to enjoy the power of compounding which increases if you act without hesitating. Time is magical tool that should be used in a manner that will soon turn your cents into precious dollars. While this is recommended course of action, you must also, at the same time, understand that it pays to stay away from investing in derivatives as well as in futures.
Tip number three it that you should not try and leverage as it is difficult and sometimes even impossible to make predictions about short term trends in the stock markets. So, rather than buying into markets, it is wiser to invest in stocks.
Actually, to pick individual stocks it is necessary to go with those stocks that show you an image of how the stock market is likely to move and this is done by mirroring the broader stock market indexes. Also, try and avoid purchasing single stocks or even several stock exposures. And, be sure to distribute your risk across a variety of market segments to ensure that if a few stocks fail that you can recoup your losses from other more profitable stocks.
Before purchasing stocks, you need to look at how well a company is earning and base your buying decision on this factor, instead of on the current stock prices. These stock prices often give wrong impressions and will not reflect the true nature of a company’s welfare.
Also, if you find some stocks have turned out to be duds, then you must get rid of them as soon as possible and only hand on to those stocks that are continually growing. If you have erred in buying a stock, you must be ready to admit that you made a mistake and you should then get rid of that stock.
When it comes to purchasing stocks, be careful that you ensure that you are buying value and not momentum. In addition, your decision to purchase a stock should be based upon what your head says and not what your heart is pleading.
It also means that when your brain tells you to buy a stock, you should buy the stock and not make the mistake of purchasing stocks based on emotions. Buying into large company stocks is always prudent as the chances of earning profits in the long run are higher as compared to other stocks.
Therefore, you should buy into large stocks while avoiding purchasing penny stocks which are hard to evaluate and so are best left alone.
